Clutch

A lifestyle.

Ahh The Buddha in the Barrel.  I’ve not yet had the distinct pleasure of attempting to surf Pipeline, and if I’m honest, I might never work up the cojones to do so.  Watching a video like this is amazing because it shows you surfing’s Mecca at a time when it was still so raw.  The waves are still raw today, but by all accounts, the tourists have taken over.

Nevertheless, Gerry Lopez was, is, and always will be clutch.

“Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else’s opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation.” Anonymous - A reminder. Be yourself. Be your dreams. Be clutch. Always.

Flickr is littered with amazingly talented photographers. The sad reality is, it is also littered with a bunch of terrible snapshooters as well. Lucky for us, every now and then someone pops up with a true eye, and a true talent. Canada’s own Idle A While is one such talent.
Check out her rendition of the famous Afghan Girl photo that graced the cover of National Geographic. Head over, tell her we sent you.

When we look at how the best brands in the world deliver their message, we have high expectations. Mercedes-Benz knocks one out of the park with their new series of TV media.

With an intense focus on the things that make Mercedes Mercedes: intense quality in product, engineering, and safety. With the almost arrogant but always confident overtone. Doesn’t get more authentic. Or, more clutch. Than that.

The Pops is on RedSox.com!
What’s beyond clutch, to me, is the simple fact that my Dad is on the front page of RedSox.com today.  How cool is it that the dude half responsible for bringing me into this world is rocking it on the front page of the 2007 World Series Champions?  Very cool my friends, very cool indeed.
Head over to RedSox.com and check it out.

I don’t know about you, but with the price of gas drastically increasing every single day, the prospect of getting into my car to go, well, Anywhere just bums me out.  That said, I am one of the lucky Green few to own a scooter, and while it’s not quite as green as hopping on your bicycle, the ability to motor around town at 35mph is pretty rad.
My 2006 Honda Metropolitan gets about 125 miles to the gallon and I’ll be damned if it isn’t a lot of fun to ride.  Thing is, how do you ride, stay safe, AND be clutch at the same time?  Simple, you strap on a lid like the one above that I just bought.  Jeff Spicoli would approve.
Helmet City, Inc. have a whole line of retro helmets that come in all sorts of finishes and rad designs.  Best thing, they are all DOT certified.  Believe it.

Brace yourself for Eugene Francis Jnr.  He’s going to be big, he’s going to spread like wildfire, and he’s going to be clutch.  I can feel it already.

They did it again, just like they always do.  Canon’s let the spec’s out of the bag on their much-heralded update to their immensely popular Digital Rebel, Digital SLR line of cameras.  The new bad boy is called the Digital Rebel XSi and comes with a slew of features that a whole heck of a lot of people have been hounding them for.
Hit the link for more features, but here’s what all you Canon-philes can expect:

Excellent performance with 3.5 fps continuous shooting, up to 53 full-resolution JPEGs or 6 RAW images in a burst, and reduced shutter lag time.
Large 3.0-inch LCD monitor, with 170° wide viewing angle, superior viewing in daylight, and Live View Function.
Fast 9-point AF system, and two types of AF during Live View Function.

What do you do when you can’t surf? Simple, you skate. Slater knows it, hell, he even has his own signature board with this company I just spotted. The most clutch thing about Arbor Sports, in my humble opinion, is that not only do they make amazing products, they also use completely eco-friendly materials like koa and bamboo. Clutch.
Check out my personal favorite, the carving Bamboo Pin Board…digging the Japanese inspired art on the bottom of the deck and the clean, classic lines on top. This will very certainly be my next purchase.

When we first bought the Apple TV for our living room, we weren’t sure if it was going to be the new hotness, or just another awesomely designed paperweight. And, the first generation Apple TV was just that, all talk and no walk.
But, with the new software upgrade Apple released this week, the Apple TV now packs a serious punch. Rent full HD movies and your favorite shows right from your TV, in seconds. The Apple TV is now in the rarified air of being one of the most useful new additions to the living room.  HD movies you want, whenever you want. Doesn’t get more clutch than that.

We saw this one coming as soon as Steve set foot on stage and pulled the MacBook Air out of a manilla envelope. And, we honestly thought one would roll out the day after the SteveNote.
Leave it to the creative folks at Timbuk2 in San Francisco to deliver the perfect cover your your MacBook Air. Its even made out of the stuff they make mountaineering jackets with. Clutch.

Kanye West + Daft Punk’s epic performance at the 2008 Grammys knocked it home in a big way.
